As Thanksgiving rapidly approaches, I find myself being so grateful. I’m grateful for my faith, my country and the loving family around me. As Canadians, we enjoy much safety in our country that is not to be taken for granted.
I’m also deeply grateful for the beauty of the city in which I live, Ottawa. There are so many parks and green spaces around the city which are remarkably accessible to the general public. Also, after a mostly wet spring and summer, the fall is turning out to be just gorgeous. I really appreciate the bike rides to and from work on these days. The cool nights make for good sleeping, too.
Sure, there are things in my life that I wish for. But I know that God has a plan for my life and I can rest in His complete sovereignty and control over all things.
During these times when there’s no much negativity in the news and around the world, it is crucial that we daily centre ourselves around the Lord Jesus Christ and how He teaches us to live, thrive and relate to one another.
“Enter His gates with Thanksgiving and His courts with praise; give thanks to Him and praise His name.” – Psalm 100:4
“… give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” – 1 Thess. 5:18
